Game # 2 was our first real challenge in that the game started at 8am sharp.
We struggled early on in the first period and allowed the opposing team to score the majority of their points during this time. We didn't really gel until the second period and looked as if we would begin to turn on the heat, but we could never really recover.
It was apparent that we were struggling in all areas of defense and offense.
After the game and for our next team practice we realized it was not our best performance, and that we looked forward to Game # 3.

Team Crush - Game 1 Hightlights
Well first I can't express my excitement over the first game we played.
Even though we lost 10-24 it was a BIG WIN in my book. You could tell everyone was nerivous and the team we faced scored mostly in the 1st period.

The rest of the game was dominated by our defense and the team getting more comfortable.
A BIG THANK YOU goes to the assistant coaches for Eivind and Ashi for their great help. Another BIG THANK YOU goes to all the parents and friends that were there to help cheer the team on.

Parents Meeting - Thursday, March 26
Can you believe it? It is the final practice before we start our games this coming Saturday.
So we are prepared we are going to be having a manditory parent meeting during practice. The meeting starts at 6:30pm on Thursday, March 26th.
We will be meeting in the Youth Center during practice.

Highlights of March 21 Fund Raiser
Even though it was a hot day (the second 90F day of the year) and the turn out for the Yard Sale was not as big as we had hoped, the activities went extremely well.
As a matter of fact we had an absolute blast!!! You can see by one of our coaches sitting back and playing some drums with the CV Band.
The day had several contests. The first was the free throw contest in which another one of our coaches won. But the competition was tough.
Every one had a great time, but we think the highlight came with the 3 point contest.
During this contest we had 3 individual tie breakers. The final winner was the head coach's 9 month pregnant wife. YOU SEE ANYONE CAN PLAY BASKETBALL!!
As you can see here there was some real bonding taking place as the teammates began to autograph each other's shirts.
We ended the day with everyone putting in their best effort to come up with a logo for our team. The competition was fierce in that we had several great entries. (A LOT OF ARTISTS OUT THERE!!!) The final winner was Avery Wright. The next blog entry will show our new logo.
We end our blog with a small clip of the CV Band warming up to "Jump"!
Our final tally that we raised was $62. Way to go Crush!

Meet the CRUSH Blowout - March 21st
Come and meet team CRUSH on Saturday, March 21st from 10am to 12pm at the Concord Village Community Center.
This will be special time of meeting the team players and going head to head in some fun games to win some prizes.
We will also have the CV Band there to rock us!
There will also be booths to sign up for activities that will be hosted this summer. This includes a swim team, CV Band tryouts, Water Polo, and the CV Theater Group.
